Mazda makes Web navigation system standard

Published on .

TOKYO--Mazda will launch in 2000 an Internet-based car navigation service that allows users here to access traffic and sightseeing information provided by an information center the automaker will create on the Web. Mazda is the second automaker, after Honda, to offer a car navigation service via the Internet.

Mazda will make the service available free of charge, just as Honda does, in an attempt to sign up as many subscribers as possible.
