MCA, Viacom in talks

MCA Corp. and Viacom are close to settling the dispute about launching new cable networks. As part the settlement, USA Network, co-owned by the two companies, would be purchased by Viacom for more than $1 billion. The Sci-Fi Channel, also co-owned by the two media giants, would go to MCA. The talks were first reported on Monday in Daily Variety.
