McCabe leaving Mazda North American Operations

Published on .

George McCabe, VP-sales and marketing at Mazda North American Operations, Irvine, Calif., will leave the car company Jan. 1 after 24 years. Mr. McCabe had been general manager, the top executive post at North American Mazda, until Richard Beattie was appointed president-CEO in March.

"I feel very good about what's happening at Mazda under the leadership of Richard Beattie, [Mazda North American's] new president-CEO. The company has stabilized and is well on its way to re-establishing itself as a major competitor in the North American market," Mr. McCabe said. "This presents a perfect opportunity for me to open a new chapter of my life and explore other business options and opportunities."
