McCann links with Jay for Buick

McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., formed an alliance with sister Interpublic Group of Cos. agency Jay Advertising, Rochester, N.Y., to better serve the Troy office's biggest client-General Motors Corp.'s Buick. Jay had 75% of all Buick's regional dealer ad groups until GM eliminated the groups in April 1999. Garry Neel, managing director of the Troy office, said Jay will help McCann respond faster regionally and help open doors to new, non-car retail clients.
