As the Oslo-based Internet company moves headquarters to London in April, McCann's London office will take over as lead agency. McCann will also be handling media for the campaign.
The campaign, worth an initial $3.2 million, will break in the U.K., Germany, France and Scandinavia using offline and online media.
NamePlanet.com also has appointed Oslo-based BrandMark Consulting and PR agency Burson-Marsteller to implement a pan-European campaign.
NamePlantet.com allows Web users to build their own personal space and environment on the Internet using their own names. The site already has 150,000 registered users, including 12,500 in the U.K.
NamePlanet.com was founded in July by Scandinavian venture capital firms Four Seasons Venture and Venture Partners. The site is currentlyavailable in English-, German-, French-, Spanish-, Danish-, Norwegian- and Swedish-language versions.
