McCormick speaks on FTC probe

McCormick & Co., Sparks, Md., confirmed the Federal Trade Commission is investigating McCormick's use of exclusivity clauses in certain customer contracts as an unfair method of competition. McCormick said the probe does not involve slotting fees. It said it has negotiated exclusivity agreements in a very limited number of cases and believes they are appropriate.
