McDonald's faces riot in Belarus

MINSK -- The opening of the first McDonald's in Minsk, Belarus on December 10 led to rioting because of rumors that the U.S. chain's first customers would get free food or a prize.

A 4,000-strong crowd tried to push their way in, causing riot police with truncheons to push them back.

McDonald's plans to open four restaurants in Minsk.
