As the Lenten season begins today, McDonald's Corp. restaurants in Southern California are launching a new promotion for a beefed-up version of the chain's Filet-O-Fish sandwich. The promotion is set to run through Easter weekend. The sandwich, 33% bigger than its predecessor, will be sold for $1.39 on weekdays and 99 cents on weekends. March is a period in which McDonald's restaurants will feature local, rather than national, promotions.
