McNeil pulls Benecol salad dressings

McNeil Consumer Products has discontinued its Benecol line of cholesterol-lowering salad dressings, citing slow sales. The move follows McNeil's withdrawal of mainstream consumer advertising for the umbrella brand, which also includes spreads, snack bars and tablets. Separately, rival Lipton also has pulled its Take Control salad dressings line.
