Media Metrix, an Internet-based media measurement company, has expanded into Australia with a joint venture with Australia Market Research Interactive. Under the deal, the two will create a meter-based Internet and digital-media audience measurement service for Australia and New Zealand. David Stewart-Hunter, former managing director of A.C. Nielsen's custom research division, will be CEO of Media Metrix's business in Australia, based in Sydney. In related news, Media Metrix named Andy Fessel, former director-database and marketing for Microsoft Corp.'s Web use research and analysis team, senior VP.
