Published on .

LONDON--Aegis Group, the holding company for media planning and buying network Carat, has snapped up Doug Flynn, the managing director of News International, to fill the recently vacant post of CEO.

Mr. Flynn will take up his postion in September when the current CEO, Crispin Davis, departs to be the chief executive of Reed Elsevier.

Commenting on the appointment, Aegis Chairman Frank Law said, "Doug has extensive experience in the media world, both internationally and in the U.K. He has an impressive and consistent track record ... As a non-exec director of Aegis (since May 1988), he knows the company and the management team well."

Before his appointment as managing director of London-based NewsInternational, a subsidiary of News Corp., Mr. Flynn held a number of senior management positions within News Corp. in Australia.
