MERCEDES-BENZ APPOINTS MARKETING EXEC FOR WESTERN REGION

(Aug. 15, 2001) -- Mercedes-Benz USA, Montvale, N.J., named David Schembri, 48, vice president of marketing from vice president of sales in the automaker's western region. He succeeds Ken Enders, who "left the company to pursue other interests," Mercedes said in a statement. Mr. Enders, 39, when named vice president of marketing in the fall of 1999, had been with Mercedes since 1985. -- Jean Halliday
