Merck names Barry Blau direct AOR

Merck & Co., West Point, Pa., named Barry Blau & Partners, Wilton, Conn., direct marketing agency of record for its direct-to-consumer business. Other contenders for the estimated $50 million account, covering all Merck's brands, were Grey Direct, OgilvyOne, J. Walter Thompson USA and Wunderman Cato Johnson, all New York; as well as Clarion Direct Marketing, Greenwich, Conn., and Devon Direct, Berwyn, Pa. OgilvyOne and Wunderman previously split the account.
