Metropolitan Life Insurance Co
., New York, is staging two interactive reviews as it prepares a major revamp of its Web site. The insurer is talking with Web site developers about a visual redesign of the site and has approached agencies for work on online advertising and marketing strategies. Sharyn Meaney, director of eCommerce, said MetLife expects to finish the reviews by the end of February; it is possible one i-shop could end up with both assignments. MetLife hopes to launch the online campaign by mid-year or later as part of an expansion of the site beyond its current "brochureware" capabilities, said Ms. Meaney, a former APL Digital and Grey Interactive executive who joined MetLife in October. Spending hasn't been determined.
