Mexican airline lifts lid on 1999 campaign

MEXICO CITY--Mexicana de Aviacio, Mexico's leading airline, has launched a new ad campaign for 1999 on national TV. The commercials are appearing exclusively on Televisa channels. One ad, "Cielito Lindo", emphasizes Mexicana's alliances with international carriers Lufthansa and United Airlines. Another highlights Mexicana's modernized operator and Internet reservations systems, while the third focuses on business-class service and the fact that Mexicana now offers non-smoking flights. Mexicana will launch two more TV spots, one of which is focused on promoting its frequent-flyer program. The ad campaign will remain on the air all year and will be backed by print and billboard ads.
