Universal McCann had already picked up Microsoft's global business for Windows XP and the marketer's new video-game console, X Box.
The incumbent was Munich-based Media Plus, which was linked to Carat International.
Universal McCann will handle the entire Microsoft budget, except for MSN, from its newly opened M.E.C.H. (McCann-Erickson Communication House) in Berlin. -- Dagmar Mussey
