Microsoft boosts network capacity

Microsoft Corp. plans to increase by 500% this year the number of modems available in the U.S. with access to the Microsoft Network. In addition, MSN will add dial-in local-access phone numbers to 50 U.S. cities. The network expansion is being deployed in conjunction with Microsoft partner UUNet Technologies, an Internet service provider.
