Microsoft browser links to Disney, Warner, Times

Published on .

Microsoft Corp.'s next Internet Explorer browser likely will feature icons on its "channel bar" with direct links to sites of Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros. and The New York Times, according to a person familiar with plans. The move could dramatically boost traffic to the sites; Microsoft until now only has confirmed IE 4.0 will include links to PointCast, MSNBC and Intuit. Microsoft is expected to unveil IE's revised beta version July 15 and release the final product late this summer.
