Microsoft and Cahners partner on hotel database

Published on .

Microsoft's travel site Expedia.com, Redmond, Wash., and Cahners Business Information, Newton, Mass., agreed to develop an online hotel database. Cahners will exclusively sell the hotel directory advertising on Expedia.com and Microsoft Travel Technology licensed sites.

This is the first time Cahners had made its Hotel & Travel Index, which has 41,000 listings worldwide and Official Hotel Guide, which has 30,000 listings worldwide, available to the public. Both guides were formerly restricted to travel agents. The sites will offer in-depth listings and photographs of hotels.
