Microsoft invests in Navitel

Microsoft has acquired an equity interest in Menlo Park, Calif.-based Navitel Communications, a portable software developer. Navitel will develop software for handheld and portable computing devices to run on Microsoft's Windows CE platform. Microsoft hopes the move will help the growth of Windows CE as a platform for Internet telephones, set-top boxes and other products.
