In other online city guide news, Microsoft Corp. on Thursday night kicks off "Click on to Get Out Day," an after-work party in downtown Seattle. Designed to promote the Seattle Sidewalk
service, the party features giveaways of entertainment-related activities such as Seattle Mariners tickets, passes to nightclubs and discounts at outdoor retailer REI. A similar event will be held later this summer in New York, Sidewalk's newest market.
A Microsoft survey of 500 Seattle residents found that 71% of respondents missed a performance or event they wanted to see because they didn't know about it in time. Six out of 10 respondents said they go to the same restaurant rather than try someplace new. Microsoft positions Sidewalk as a personalized entertainment recommendation guide.
