Microsoft names president-COO

Microsoft Corp. named Rick Belluzzo, 47, president-chief operating officer, replacing Bob Herbold, 58, who is retiring from the position. Mr. Belluzzo started at Microsoft in 1999 and most recently was VP-personal services and devices. In his new role, he'll be CEO Steve Ballmer's right-hand man, overseeing the company's sales, marketing, business development and strategy.
