MICROSOFT READIES HOMEADVISOR: $5 MIL CAMPAIGN WILL INTRODUCE NEW WEB SITE

By Published on .

Microsoft corp., developing a Web site to do for home sales what its CarPoint site has done for car shopping, is preparing an estimated $5 million print, radio and online ad campaign for Microsoft HomeAdvisor.

The new site (www.homeadvisor.com) will guide consumers through a home purchase, connecting buyers with lenders, agents, builders and suppliers of products for a new home.

NOT FORMALLY ANNOUNCED

Microsoft hasn't formally announced this new home page and has released no details, but the car-shopping site offers an idea of what direction HomeAdvisor will take. Microsoft CarPoint provides car reviews, pricing data, buying advice and a link to dealers who pay a fee for a listing and agree to sell the car at a discounted, no-negotiation price.

Microsoft awarded the assignment to Anderson & Lembke, San Francisco. The ads break in July.

Coupled with an additional $5 million in new or incremental business, the agency has boosted its Microsoft billings to an estimated $80 million. A&L works with nine Microsoft product groups or divisions.
