Microsoft's Slate is delaying plans to convert to paid

After Slate Editor Michael Kinsley promoted the Webzine's planned shift to subscription at the American Magazine Conference, Microsoft Corp. announced Oct. 18 it is delaying a move to paid subscriptions for about 90 days. "We're not ready with a billing solution that we think is satisfactory for our customers," Publisher Rogers Weed told Ad Age.
