Upshot will handle integrated marketing services programs including promotions, event marketing and retail strategy for UltimateTV, a set-top digital video recorder that allows consumers to record two TV shows at the same time and pause live TV.
Upshot previously handled Microsoft's interactive TV product WebTV, which is no longer the company's primary focus now that UltimateTV -- which competes with TiVo and ReplayTV -- has launched, an Upshot spokeswoman said.
The agency's first work for the product includes a demonstration video available at UltimateTV retailers such as Best Buy and Circuit City, as well as point-of-sale materials for the critical September through December period.
