Microsoft taps into WB online

Published on .

Microsoft Corp.'s Office '97 signed on as an advertiser on Warner Bros.' Virtual Lot. Microsoft and Warner built an online store for the Office product; the store is represented as an actual building on the Warner site. Clicking on the store leads to the Office '97 portion of the Microsoft site. The deal is part of Warner's "environmental advertising" program which positions banner ads in a virtual city environment instead of at the top or bottom of a page. Anderson & Lembke, San Francisco, is Microsoft's online agency of record.
