Midas reviews narrows as DeVito/Verdi withdraws

Published on .

DeVito/Verdi, New York, has withdrawn from the estimated $20 million to $25 million Midas International Corp. review. A short statement from the company explained the agency left the review "to properly serve increasing current business workloads." DeVito/Verdi didn't elaborate on its reason for withdrawing but may have bowed out because of a potential conflict with its CarMax account. The Circuit City Stores-owned used-car chain also operates new-car dealerships, which compete with Midas for car repairs. Still believed to be in the pitch for Midas are Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York; and Euro RSCG Tatham and Cramer-Krasselt, both Chicago.
