Mindshare appoints Mark Patterson CEO in Japan

TOKYO -- Mark Patterson has been named CEO of WPP Group's MindShare Japan. Mr. Patterson is relocating to Tokyo from London, where he was managing director of BJK&E Media and True North Group.

At MindShare, Mr. Patterson is succeeding Janet Fitzpatrick, who helped launch MindShare Japan in May 1999. Ms. Fitzpatrick left MindShare in May to become global media director, PCS, at Motorola, Schaumburg, Ill.

Mr. Patterson reports to Dominic Proctor, chief operating officer of MindShare Worldwide, London.

MindShare Tokyo handles several multinational clients,including IBM Corp., Unilever, Eastman Kodak Co., WarnerLambert Co. (now part of Pfizer), De Beers Consolidated Mines and Zurich Insurance.
