MindShare wins Ford's Europe media planning

MindShare Worldwide last week said it has won strategic media planning for Ford Motor Co.'s entire European business, five months after Ogilvy & Mather lost a total $300 million in creative assignments to Young & Rubicam Europe. At the time of that win, the issue of which shop would get media planning was left unresolved. MindShare retained media buying in Europe. Richard Davies, managing partner at MindShare, told Advertising Age Ford has now confirmed MindShare will handle media planning. Ian Twinley, Ford's communications manager for Europe, and Young & Rubicam executives could not be reached by press time.
