A hysterical continuation of 1999's Mitch Miller-inspired holiday TV campaign, Amazon.com was back for Christmas 2000 with a few more goofy ads featuring the "Sweatermen." Here, the kitschy, early '70s-looking male singers wear black sweaters each bearing the first letter of something Amazon offers, from "electronics" and "movies" to "DVDs" and "toys." Put 'em all together and you've got-well, you know. Catchy, funny, brilliantly produced, this campaign seemed to help Amazon post decent holiday sales numbers, but the agency lost the account anyway. Too bad. We're gonna miss these guys come December.
