Pierre Gagnon Named CEO of New Company

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Japan's Mitsubishi Motor Corp. said it will consolidate its North American sales, manufacturing, finance and research operations into one unit.

The new organization will be called Mitsubishi Motors North America and is expected to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2003.

president and chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, the sales and marketing unit, becomes president-CEO of the new company. Greg O'Neill, the unit's executive vice president and general manager, becomes president and chief operating officer of the new entity. Mr. O'Neill will oversee sales and marketing.

Separately, the marketer has kicked off an online sweepstakes giving consumers a chance to win one of its all-new 2003 Outlander sport utility vehicles, which arrive this fall. Consumers can also receive a $15 gas card and a CD of music from Mitsubishi TV commercials from Interpublic Group of Cos.' Deutsch, Los Angeles, for taking an Outlander on a test drive.

10th Degree, a direct and internet marketing agency in Irvine, Calif., handled the sweepstakes.
