Molson sponsors Formula 1 race in Canada

Published on .

Molson Canada is putting its Molson Dry brand, Quebec's best-selling beer, behind the title sponsorship of the new CART race to be held in Montreal beginning in year 2002.

The Molson Dry Indy CART race, part of the CART FedEx Championship series, will run on the Cir-cuit Gilles Villeneuve permanent track that is also the site of the Air Canada Grand Prix For-mula 1 race each June. The CART race will be held in late August or early September.

Molson Canada is also sponsor of the Molson Indy races in Vancouver and Toronto, both of which take place on temporary street circuits.

The new Molson Dry Indy is contracted for six years, to 2006. Raynald Doin, president, Molson Canada, Quebec/Atlantic Region, says that the race will contribute to Montreal's and Quebec's visibility internationally.
