Moscow Telco Corp., Lucent to build cable TV network

MOSCOW -- The Moscow Telecommunications Corporation (KomKor) and Lucent Technologies, a subsidiary of AT&T, announce plans to develop Moscow's largest cable TV network in eastern Europe; KomKor has already installed 600km of fiber for the system's backbone and has plans to install an additional 600 km; the first phase of the project through the year 2000 is estimated to cost about $240 million and will be partly financed by the American Export-Import Bank.
