BE moves golf tourney to Miami

Published on .

Black Enterprise is expected to announce at a press conference on Tuesday that it is pulling the Black Enterprise/Pepsi Challenge, a celebrity golf tournament for African Americans, out of Los Angeles and transferring it to Miami. A spokesman for BE said the move is a protest sparked by California Governor Pete Wilson's recent moves to curb affirmative action programs in the state. The tournament is now slated to take place at the Doral Resort in Miami over Labor Day weekend.
