MPA ends president search; CTW's Nina Link gets job

Children's Television Workshop publishing executive Nina B. Link was named president-CEO of the Magazine Publishers of America, New York, effective Nov. 1. She is the first woman to hold the MPA post. Ms. Link, group president-publishing and interactive software for CTW, has been a member of the MPA executive committee since 1994. She succeeds Donald D. Kummerfeld, MPA president since 1987, who previously announced his intention to retire. Ms. Link has also served as a director of the Audit Bureau of Circulations since 1996. She has been with CTW since 1978. Other candidates considered by MPA's search committee led by Hearst Magazines President and incoming MPA Chair Cathleen P. Black, Reader's Digest executive Tom Kenney and MPA VP-Marketing Christine Miller. No successor to Ms. Link at CTW was immediately named.
