MPA's Guthrie joins Petersen

James Guthrie is leaving the Magazine Publishers of America, where he is exec VP-marketing development, to become exec VP-marketing & sales, a new post, at Petersen Publishing, publisher of Motor Trend, 'Teen, Sport, Hot Rod and other magazines. Petersen was purchased last September by an investment group and has been attempting to raise its profile. Landey & Partners, Grounds Morris, New York, was recently tapped to be agency of record for Petersen, with an estimated $1 million campaign for 'Teen set to break in the near future.
