MSN flogs rich media, touts enhanced banner functionality

As the Microsoft Network expands its efforts to promote rich media to advertisers and their interactive agencies, it's also trying to give banner ads a boost. MSN is hyping new functionality for banners that enable consumers to browse and bookmark without ever leaving their favorite Web sites, along with a host of services for advertisers such as an e-mail manager, a Web courier opt-in vehicle, collaborative filtering technologies, and information and data capture vehicles. MSN started making MSN enRiched Ad Solutions available for free to online advertisers Oct. 1.
