Published on .

John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co., Boston, signed a two-year, $7.5 million deal with Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash., to be the "premier life insurance sponsor" of MSN's group of Web sites. The move expands Hancock's efforts to market and sell insurance over the Internet. Beginning early next year, Hancock will get brand exposure on nine MSN sites. Microsoft also agreed to collaborate with Hancock on ad research and implementation of new ad technologies.
