MTV, Gateway 2000 give nod to Intercast

MTV Networks on Monday will announce its plans to use Intel Corp.'s Intercast technology on M2:Music Television, allowing users of specially equipped PCs to watch the channel and get additional Web content. The launch is part of a strategic alliance unveiled in July by Intel and MTV. Gateway 2000 on Monday also will announce plans to sell Intercast-ready PCs, becoming only the second PC maker, after Compaq Computer Corp., to support the fledgling standard.
