MTV Networks to launch two new Web sites

MTV Networks, a unit of Viacom, New York, last week announced plans to launch two new online destinations.

MTV Networks brands MTV and VH1 will create a music site, with the working title of the Buggles Project, to be launched in June. Nickelodeon will launch Project Nozzle, a kids-only online service to make its debut in September. Viacom also said it would establish a new Internet division to oversee the new online ventures, with a satellite office in San Mateo, Calif. The sites will be powered by recently acquired Imagine Radio; Web developer Nvolve, San Mateo; and Red Rocket, an online toy retailer.Talk City unveils more user-friendly redesignOnline community Talk City today unveils a redesign to make accessing the service's chat rooms faster and simpler. The online service also beefed up its offerings last week in adding free e-mail as well as licensing software from CommTouch's ProntoMail.
