Multinational brands such as Yahoo!, Microsoft and America Online lead the list of top sites used by Web-goers globally, according to Media Metrix, an Internet and digital media measurement company. In the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France and, for the first time, Australia, multinational brands dominated on a global basis, with Yahoo! ranking among the top three global domains in every country measured. Globally, Web users spent a monthly average of 5.2 hours online, spread over 9.6 days. Canadians spent the most time online, with an average of 7.5 hours spread over 11.2 days. Meanwhile, the French spent the least time online, with an average of 3.4 hours spread over 8.6 days.
