Murdoch names Disney for Delphi

Published on .

Rupert Murdoch named Anthea Disney, 48, to the new post of editor in chief, Delphi Internet Services Corp., from the same title at TV Guide, sending the signal that News Corp. will make a serious effort to revitalize its flagging online service. Ms. Disney, a former executive producer of "A Current Affair," will bring her mass-market touch to Delphi, which plans a fall re-launch. She assumes the new post July 1; a successor will be announced at TV Guide shortly. The move follows by one day the appointment of TV Guide Executive Editor Barry Golson as editor in chief of new media and magazine development for News Corp., responsible for TV Guide Online.
