Musicland launches Web stores

Musicland Stores Corp. launched its first e-commerce-enabled Web sites June 23. The strategy is to promote the various brands of its retail stores through separate sites: SamGoody.com, Suncoast.com, MediaPlay.com and OnCue.com.

Musicland is launching a national ad campaign, created in-house, promoting the SamGoody.com site. The sites are tagged "We've got dot,'' and feature an animated spider called Spot. Spending was undisclosed.
