MXG Media launches branding effort

MXG Media, formerly MoXieGirl, an entertainment and e-commerce site for Generation Y, is launching its first multimillion-dollar consumer advertising and branding effort Feb. 14, designed to drive traffic to mxgonline.com. The ads, from McElroy Advertising, Orange County, Calif., will air on the WB and MTV networks, as well as in six major radio markets - Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The new spot features hip, young teen girls engaged in sports, dancing and celebrations of friendship. In an cross-promotional arrangement with A&M Records, the ad and Web site also highlight the commercial's sound track featuring recording artist Patty Griffin's "Blue Sky" from her latest album, Flaming Red.
