MXG Media, formerly MoXieGirl, an entertainment and e-commerce site for Generation Y, is launching its first multimillion-dollar consumer advertising and branding effort Feb. 14, designed to drive traffic to mxgonline.com
. The ads, from McElroy Advertising, Orange County, Calif., will air on the WB and MTV networks, as well as in six major radio markets - Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The new spot features hip, young teen girls engaged in sports, dancing and celebrations of friendship. In an cross-promotional arrangement with A&M Records, the ad and Web site also highlight the commercial's sound track featuring recording artist Patty Griffin's "Blue Sky" from her latest album, Flaming Red.
