MyPoints targets supermarket shoppers via Catalina

MyPoints.com, San Francisco, and Catalina Marketing Group, St. Petersburg, Fla., have formed an alliance to: co-brand Catalina's Supermarkets Online and ValuPage sites; offer points to MyPoints' 7.1 million members for downloading coupons; market MyPoints.com's loyalty program to Catalina's partner supermarkets and package-goods manufacturers; and develop future online coupon programs. The exclusive alliance is the latest of MyPoints' moves into the offline world. The company recently announced alliances with Sprint Corp., restaurant chains and the Next card for a MyPoints branded MasterCard.
