NAD drops inquiry

An inquiry by the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus into an ad claim for Nabisco Food Group's Fleishmann's margarine was discontinued when Nabisco said the ads were no longer running. Van Den Bergh Foods Co. (I Can't Believe It's Not Butter)challenged the Fleischmann claim: "The only leading stick margarine with on added water...No water means great results every time you bake." Nabisco said it stands behind the claims, but ended the campaign for business reasons unrelated to the inquiry.
