(July 15, 2001) -- Embattled MP3 site Napster, Redwood City, Calif., has named Konrad Hilbers its new chief executive officer. He succeeds Hank Barry, the interim CEO who took the job in May 2000 and who will remain on Napster's board of directors. Hilbers managed online services including America Online, Netscape and Compuserve in Europe from 1996 to 2000 and most recently was executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Bertelsmann's music division, BMG Entertainment. -- Adrienne Mand
