NARB sends Winn-Dixie complaint to FTC

Published on .

The National Advertising Review Board said it had forwarded a complaint about Winn-Dixie's advertising to the Federal Trade Commission, the fourth time in 25 years for such an action. NARB made the move after the supermarket chain decided against modifying its ad campaign, which made direct price comparisons with rivals. NARB found Winn-Dixie was using prices that were in some cases 90 days old, suggesting instead a seven-day window that the chain called unfeasible given the prep time needed for a spot.
