Narrative creates commerce-enabled banner for Eddie Bauer

Published on .

Narrative Communications Corp., makers of the Enliven interactive ad banner technology, has created a prototype of a commerce-enabled ad banner for casual clothing manufacturer Eddie Bauer. Through integration with the Microsoft Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition, the ads allow customers to securely enter their credit card numbers and purchase men's pants without leaving the ad banner. Narrative unveiled the prototype at this week's DEMO 98 conference in Indian Wells, Calif. The company plans to make the commerce-enabled banner technology generally available by midyear. First Virtual already pioneered similar commerce-enabled banners with its VirtualTAG technology last April.
