Published on .

Prodigy said it has been chosen as an officially licensed Internet service provider for NASCAR, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Prodigy recently sponsored driver Dave Marcis for the 1996 NASCAR Winston Cup Series of Racing. As part of the licensing agreement, Prodigy will distribute approximately two million software disks at races throughout the 1996 season, offering NASCAR fans 20 free trial hours of the service. Dave Marcis and his racing team also plan to participate in chats, answer fan e-mail and provide a photo library to the service.
